This page shows you how to fix a classification error where Golden Records displays a score as "Archer" when it should show "Bowman" according to Archery GB tables.

Understanding the Problem

Archery GB rules prevent Bowman classifications from being awarded based on practice scores. When you mark a score as "Practice" in Golden Records, the system automatically assigns a lower classification level, even if the score value would normally qualify for Bowman.

How to Correct the Classification

Follow these steps to fix the classification mismatch:

Locate the score that shows the incorrect classification
Check whether the score status is set to "Practice"
If the score was shot under conditions that should qualify for Bowman, change the status from "Practice" to an appropriate alternative
For organized club shoots that follow competition conditions but are not formal competitions, select Club Event as the status

Choosing the Right Score Status

Select the status that best matches how the score was shot:

Practice — Use for casual practice rounds. These scores do not count toward Bowman classifications
Club Event — Use for organized club shoots conducted under competition-like conditions. These scores are eligible for Bowman classifications
Competition statuses — Use for formal competitions. These scores count toward all classification levels including Bowman

Completing the Fix

After you update the score status to the correct option, Golden Records will automatically recalculate the classification. The system will then display the classification that matches the Archery GB tables.
