Columns
All the columns in the template must be present in the file and they must be headed exactly as the template. The only exception is for non-UK users importing scores, the handicap and classification columns should be omitted.
They can, however, be in a different order.
All columns should have data in them. If score data is unknown enter 0. Location can be left blank. Qualifying and Record Status must be either TRUE or FALSE. Score status must be one of the status values in Golden Records.
Data
The end of data must be marked by entering End in the first column.
Very Important! For correct functioning of the classification and handicap system all data imported must use consistent category names. Mixing Gent and Gentlemen will result in different classification categories. Mixing 'Recurve' and 'Recv' will result in different handicap/classification classes. Classifications must strictly follow the Archery GB system (e.g. Archer 2nd Class), using 'Archer 2nd' only or 'Second Class' will prevent correct classifications being calculated. Using the preset Categories and preset Bow Classes is strongly advised for maximum compatibility. Applies to GB users specifically, but recommended for all users
Recommended Import Naming
Only the characters ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789-/_. and spaces are permitted, other characters will be removed.
Values (eg names, rounds, categories or bow classes) that are not found to be in the database already, will be added to the database.
Names
Names will be matched on the name only. If Fred Smith is already in the database, then all subsequent records marked as belonging to Fred Smith will be attributed to the first Fred Smith, even if the subsequent records belong to another individual with the same name. Temporarily amend the name by adding a number e.g. Fred Archer 2. The name can be edited after import without affecting score allocation. If a score record includes a round not in the database a matching season cannot be found, this will mean that those score records will be allocated to a season matching the date shot and the Type indicated. To avoid duplication, use classes, categories, and rounds already in Golden Records Online as far as possible If you are a Personal user the name columns must be present, but are ignored when importing data, your name will be substituted.
CSV or Txt Files
Where data is delimited by means of a comma the presence of commas in data values will create false columns and failure of the import.
Spreadsheets
Golden Records can import .xlsx filed but not .xls
