Why Can't Golden Records use the Dates of My Club's Seasons?
My club shoots outdoors from May to September but Golden Records sets the Outdoor season as starting in January and ending in December when we don't shoot.
Seasons are automatically managed by Golden Records from scores. It uses the Type (eg Indoor) assigned to a round and the date the score was shot to determine the season the score should be in. If a round is not assigned a known type a season will be created as Unmatched XXXX where XXXX is the year the score was shot. The start and end dates are aligned with those of various archery bodies. In the UK Archery GB considers the outdoor target season to start on 1 January and end on 31 December each year. These dates are used for season dates.
The objective of Golden Records managing seasons is to ensure that handicaps and classifications are calculated correctly and scores are correctly allocated. While scores are allocated to seasons, Golden Records allows any score to be added any time without the need to select which season it should be added to. eliminating error.
